Introducing new Reports features, including data-enriched Interactive Maps and Template Library & Import.
That’s the question we set out to help our customers answer at the start of 2017. After four months of research and working closely with civic leaders and analysts from across the country, it’s become clear that smart cities are taking a new approach to not only answer that question, but to ensure it’s a yes.
Today, we’re happy to announce enhancements to the mySidewalk city intelligence tool that will make it easier to identify, track, analyze, communicate—and make progress—on city-wide goals. Our intention is for these enhancements to empower city leaders and the public with the most complete, clear, and real-time understanding of their communities so they can improve and innovate together.
Here’s what’s new in mySidewalk Reports.
Interactive Maps on Reports
When it comes to assessing progress and needs, place matters—at least that’s what the dozens of city leaders we’ve spent hundreds of hours interviewing told us. Adding interactive maps to reports gives users the ability to analyze a geography on the fly and quickly add it to the report. When people can connect the story in a report with the place they live, they engage.
This new update allows our customers to:
Create an interactive, data-enriched map on a report
Apply custom layers to a map
Apply mySidewalk’s pre-loaded layers, including all census geographies, plus neighborhoods, council districts, school districts, and more to a map
Customize the map style with base map views and brand colors

Template Library & Imports
Starting from scratch is hard—particularly when it comes to anything data-related. That’s why we’ve strengthened our reporting features with research-driven templates that give users a helpful starting point to customize their own reports.
The Report Template Library includes a bevy of pre-built reports. Once you select a report, it will populate with data specific to your community. Maps and images are included, and can be customized along with all other components to reflect your community’s brand and narrative.
You can also import any report template or any of your own previously created reports into a new report, limiting the amount of time you spend re-collecting, re-creating, and re-publishing assets.
